Export to Elementor

Pick a section on any website and paste it into a WordPress page built with Elementor, either as widgets you can click and edit, or as an exact copy.

Where to click ToolbarExportElementorCopy for Elementor
Choose Editable or Exact copy, then Copy for Elementor.

Steps

  1. 1

Click Export in the toolbar, then Elementor.

  2. 2

Hover the section you want and click it.

  3. 3

In the panel, choose Editable or Exact copy (see the table below).

Editable takes a moment to build: the file row reads Building widgets…, then how many widgets it made.

  4. 4

    Click Copy for Elementor.

  5. 5

Open your page in the Elementor editor, in the same browser.

  6. 6

Right-click the + drop area (or any element) and click Paste.

Editable or Exact copy?

Not sure? Start with Editable. If a capture cannot be turned into widgets, the panel says so, and Exact copy still works.

Elementor is open in another browser

  1. 1

In Elementor, right-click the drop area and choose Paste from other site.

  2. 2

While that box is open, press Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac).

This needs Elementor 3.11 or newer and does not work in Safari.

Or import it as a template

  1. 1

In the PocketUI panel, click Download. You get a .json file.

  2. 2

In WordPress, go to Templates → Saved Templates and click Import Templates.

  3. 3

Choose the file. The template is now in your library, ready to insert on any page.

Good to know

  • Containers: Editable builds with Elementor's Flexbox Containers, the default on current sites. On an older site still using Sections and Columns, turn them on in Elementor → Settings → Features → Flexbox Container, or use Exact copy.
  • Free or Pro: only free widgets are used (Heading, Text Editor, Button, Image, HTML), so Elementor Free is enough.
  • Tablet and phone: Editable sets the tablet and mobile values it measured on the original, so check them in Elementor's responsive mode rather than starting from scratch.
  • Fonts: the widgets name the original font. If your site does not load it, add it in Elementor → Custom Fonts, or pick one of yours in the panel.
  • HTML blocks: Exact copy, and any piece kept as HTML, uses Elementor's HTML widget. WordPress lets administrators save HTML; on some multisite or locked-down hosts editors cannot.
  • Images: in Editable they are copied into your Media Library. If the original site blocks downloads, you get Elementor's grey placeholder: swap the image in the panel.

Tips

  • A plain Ctrl+V on the Elementor canvas does not work: always use right-click → Paste (or Paste from other site).
  • Pieces with no Elementor widget, like SVG art, forms or tables, stay as small HTML blocks in the right place.
  • Export to the same place every day? Right-click its petal in the Export fan and choose Pin to front. It then sits in the toolbar row, one click away.
